The Kiwanis Club of Pekin was chartered by Kiwanis International on May 24, 1920 and is one of the most active clubs in Division 20 and all of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District.
From day one the club has provided many activities for youth, including trips to Chicago, St. Louis, Springfield and Wildlife Prairie Park. The BUG (Bring Up Grades) program in the elementary schools has been popular for several years. Our club has partnered with the Pekin Park District, establishing two community parks - Kiwanis Park North and Kiwanis Park South.
Each year we sponsor the Pekin Community High School Key Club, the Edison Junior High Builders Club and an Aktion Club. We have a Farm-City Day, bicycle rodeo, and Stand-up for Kiwanis. We ring bells for the Salvation Army and we financially support many agencies.
